  3. Looking back at "Pretty Hate Machine" after listening to the entire Nine Inch Nails discography multiple times, I guess it's pretty safe to say that it's pretty dated by today's standards. The mixing, mastering and vocals don't quite match up to the standards of, well, pretty much any NIN record that came out later and there's barely a concept.

Nine Inch Nails is my favorite band of all time and I know they're generally outside of this sub's interests which I've accepted but seeing all the love here makes me happier than I could've expected. As for my thoughts on this album, I % agree with the others saying that it's the best release since YZ and up there as a top-tier NIN release.
  8. As the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations recently reminded us, Nine Inch Nails debuted in , dropping Pretty Hate Machine on Oct. 20, just days before Halloween and right at the tail.
